Human (Hu) Valuation

"Humans have an intrinsic value that can be and shall be assigned to each human to access. To live a fulfilling life without the urgent need to survive day to day, month to month, within an abundant earth, humans have the right to live unencumbered by governments and institutions with unmanageable overhead, keeping humans from being creative and innovating locally and making a better life through a renaissance of freedom and love for life. My wish is to academically validate, with reasonable evidence, that the Human (Hu) valuation can become a financial instrument for humans born into this world, to be awarded without judgment or access to their inheritance." — Jeno Joseph Giordano

Dear Esteemed Readers, Scholars, and Curious Minds,

Embarking on a journey through the multifaceted realms of human valuation, I, Jeno Joseph Giordano, am thrilled to share with you a profound exploration into quantifying the intrinsic and instrumental values of humans within Earth’s ecological and societal frameworks. The recent publication, "Humans (Hu) Valuation: Valuating Humanity in Earth's Spheres," and the subsequent video transcript have sparked vibrant discussions and inquiries among various academic and professional circles.

The Genesis of the "Hu" Equation

The "Hu" Equation, conceptualized in the paper, seeks to capture the diverse facets constituting human worth, transcending beyond mainstream economic paradigms that often reduce the intrinsic value of human existence to simplistic monetary terms. The framework deconstructs the Human (Hu) sphere into five key components:

  • VHP (Value of Human Population)

  • VIPL (Value of Individual Potential and Life)

  • VCSP (Value of Collective Societal Progress)

  • VCE (Value of Cultural Enrichment)

  • VEC (Value of Economic Contribution)

Each component, further dissected into sub-components and sub-sub-components, is crafted into mathematical representations, encapsulating both tangible and intangible elements ranging from creativity, relationships, and cultural capital to skills, health, and GDP.

Bridging Philosophical and Economic Thought

The granular structure of the "Hu" Equation attempts to bridge philosophical and economic schools of thought, providing a versatile template to adapt valuations based on cultural and geographic contexts. The framework endeavors to harmonize notions of human worth with economic valuations, spotlighting collective societal and cultural progress, and advancing economic theory through a multidimensional prism.

The Multidimensional Value of Humanity

The implications of the "Hu" Equation permeate into policy-making, environmental management, and societal development, providing a robust foundation for future research, policy formulation, and societal introspection. The methodology acknowledges the conceptual challenges involved in quantifying subjective realms of fulfillment and represents the starting point of an ambitious research journey.

An Invitation for Collaborative Discourse

I believe the discourse on comprehensive human valuation merits perspectives from diverse disciplines. Multi-pronged efforts can enrich this model and pave the path for localized applications. Thus, I extend an invitation to fellow researchers, scholars, and enthusiasts to build upon this work, to elevate dialogues on human value beyond materialistic confines, and to contribute towards designing holistic, human-centric economic systems.

Limitations and Future Directions

While the paper has been well-received, it is crucial to acknowledge that it is currently ⅖ complete with all components. Additional components such as VCSP, VCE, and VEC are still pending refinement and complete valuations to be added to the pre-existing valuation when complete.

Conclusion

"Humans (Hu) Valuation" propels us into a profound exploration of human valuation, inviting us to reflect upon the intrinsic and instrumental values that humanity brings into Earth’s spheres. It beckons a multidisciplinary approach, encouraging dialogues and collaborations among environmental scientists, economists, sociologists, and policymakers, to further explore, understand, and apply the concepts and methodologies presented in the framework.

Acknowledgments

Gratitude is extended to all scholars, practitioners, and readers who embark on this journey of exploring and understanding the depths and breadths of human valuation within Earth’s spheres.
